Lavrios to Crete - October 22, 2023

This morning we left Kythnos at 6:00 AM.  Guests were not required to be up at that time but some people got up early enough to see the sunrise.


We packed, enjoyed our last breakfast prepared by Dimitris.  We arrived back in Lavrios midmorning.  We had a group photo taken.

We had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful boat, the wonderful food, the places we visited and spending time together.

Chris and I left at noon to head to the airport for our flight to Heraklion, Crete.  The others left to stay overnight near the airport before flying home.

  We left Syros on the morning of the 20th to begin the return part of our North Cyclades circuit, and headed to the island of Kythnos for our last two nights at two different ports on Kythnos.   First we anchored for another chance for water activities on the east side of a long sandbar at Kolona Beach. Several of us (Frank, Tom, Rita, Chris) made long swims to and walked on the sandbar.  View of the Port of Merichas We spent the night in the port of Merichas where we walked through the small town and up to a point where we had a nice view of the town. Tinos - October 16, 2023 - Updated

This morning we headed to the island of Tinos.  Our destination was originally Mykonos but "there was no room at the new port" so we headed to Tinos and will go to Mykonos tomorrow. Tinos is also one of the Cyclades Archipelago in the southern Aegean and ~195 sq KM (75 sq Miles) in size. "Tinos is famous amongst Greeks for the Church of  Panagia Evangelistria , its 80 or so  windmills ,  about 1,000 artistic dovecotes, 50 active villages and its  Venetian  fortifications at the mountain,  Exomvourgo ."
